Thrifty AND Nifty.

This post has me excited because of my excellent finds this weekend.  My boss decided I should take a day to relax and gave me this Sunday off- which is quite odd because I work the same hours/days every week. Nonetheless, I was completely satisfied with staying home to enjoy the day off.  I sat around for a few hours and then I realized I  need to go out and do something.  Instead of shopping at the mall, I decided to take a different route and go thrifting!  If you've never been thrifting you ought to give it a shot because there is so much potential. Don't think you'll walk in and find something right away, you'll have to dig; but that's half the fun of it.  The bigger the city you're in, the better the chance of finding good stuff (in my opinion).  If you think about it though, it makes sense because you have a wider variety of cultures, tastes, income etc.

Anyways, enough ranting.  I found a tank-top- Banana Republic, and I got it for $2.99! It is practically brand new. I found this at the Valley thrift store in Kettering.  I did get a few unique vases and other glassware too but that's for another blog.

I also found a great find for you fellows to look into, just as I had promised.  I understand that not all guys may like my particular taste in men's fashion, so I will switch it up as best as I can by stepping out the batters' box a bit and possibly give some of you a new meaning to clothesline. Just a little sports humor. I got to relate to you sports lovers somehow!

While searching around the web, I came across these chinos (the name comes from the fabric they're made from: chino) from H&M, for only $25 bucks. (more colors than just the beige.)  to check it out: H&M| Men's Chinos

I don't know if you ladies know anything about men's clothing, but this is a steal.  Men's clothing generally is more expensive than women's most of the time- don't ask me why because I don't have a definite answer. Maybe its because women are awesome..  (It's probably because men are bigger and use more material.) Who cares why though, it's more important that you are finding things cheap instead of paying ridiculous prices.  Now, I know guys are more "I like this, i'm gonna buy it," versus spending hours surfing the clearance rack. I get that.  But that's why you have me to teach you my ways.  Eventually all of you are gonna be bargain shopper gurus.

Beauty tip of the week:

Baby powder may seem like just a product you use if your skin is headed for the raw meat section, but it's actually a product both guys and girls should keep handy.

1. Hair refresher on the go.  Sprinkle a little at your roots or on your hands and get to scrubbing.  Comb out your hair and voila!  The powder soaks up excess oils and adds a little volume to boot.

2. Stain remover.  Spill spaghetti on yourself mid-date? No problem, dash a little powder on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off.  The powder keeps the stain from setting into the fabric.

3. Rid shave friction.  Guys this one might peak your interest.  Dab some powder on before shaving with electric razors to get rid of friction caused by your skins' natural oils.

You'll never look at baby powder the same again!

Thinking of something you wish I'd look for?  Shoot me a comment and I'll try my best to find it.

How I "deal" with fashion hunger.

So I guess you all are wondering if it's actually possible for me to give you advice on how to be fashionable, fabulous, and practically broke all at the same time.  Your prayers to the fashion gods have been answered!  I can lead you in the direction of great deals for the crumpled up dollars you've forgot about in those old pair of jeans.  Shoot, who knows, maybe those couple bucks will be enough to buy a new pair of jeans!

I'm going to be giving you a week to week update not only on clothing but beauty and skin products. (What's a good outfit without your hair and skin looking the part too?)  Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to tell you that you need to doll up to be fabulous. Stick with what suits you!  I know half of you reading this probably could care less about what I post on here, but hey,  i'm not here to only cater to my fellow ladies.  Although I may come off as girly, believe it or not guys, I know a thing or two about men's style too.  Every post is going to be a equipped with a lovely clothing find for the week, a beauty product find of the week, and a beauty tip.  I know, I know, you're welcome.

So, luckily I work conviniently by the Fairfield Mall and can browse deals after work. If you don't know where this is, the area is surrounded by stores of all kinds (aka bargain shopper heaven). Or as I like to describe this, a "good store to mile ratio".  Actually I don't call it that, I don't like referring to any math concepts if I don't have to, but it sounds cool right? Anyways, I found the best deal on shoes on Saturday! Sorry guys, this find was for the ladies, but next week will be great deals for you, promise.  Boots mid-calve to knee high, booties (ankle length boots), and open toed heels, all for 10 bucks at Charlotte Russe (in the fairfield mall). I think its safe to say that is worth every penny.  Of course, if shoes are your thing.  But then again, who doesn't love shoes?
